# PoP (Point of Presence)

A PoP (point of presence) is a physical point where a service provider has equipment. It can include everything from a single server to an entire data center.

PoPs are where the edge servers that make up a CDN’s global network are located. The number and location of these PoPs have a great impact on the CDN’s coverage and performance.
