# TLS (Transport Layer Security)

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a security protocol defined by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) to replace SSL 3.0 (Secure Sockets Layer 3.0). Like SSL, TLS uses digital certificates for user and network authentication.
