# Smooth Streaming

Smooth Streaming is a [Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH)](https://docs.transparentedge.eu/v/english/getting-started/faq/glosario/dash) technology designed by Microsoft for its IIS Media Services product. This product enables the adaptive streaming of media to clients over HTTP.
